COURSE DESCRIPTION :    

The course is designed to develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes of Diploma in Caregiver Associate in accordance with industry standards.  It consists of competencies that a person must achieve to provide care and support to infants/toddlers, provide care and support to children, foster social, intellectual, creative and emotional development of children, foster the physical development of children, provide care and support to elderly, provide care and support to people with special needs, maintain healthy and safe environment, respond to emergency, clean living room, dining room, bedrooms, toilet and bathroom, wash and iron clothes, linen, fabric, prepare hot and cold

Entry Requirements:

Trainees or students wishing to enroll in this course qualification should possess the following requirements:

  • can communicate both in oral and written English

  • physically and mentally fit;

  • with good moral character; and

  • can perform basic mathematical computation

  • NVQ (Pre School) Level 4

  • 0r O/L London

  • 0r O/L 6 credit passes (including a credit pass in English)

  • or O/L simple pass in math

  • or A /Level London

  • or A Level – 2 Passes or Equivalent Qualification and good command of the English Language

  • or English Diploma or IELTS overall 5.5

Cleaning living room, dining room, bedrooms, toilet and bathroom

Washing and ironing clothes, linen and fabric

Preparing hot and cold meals

At the end of each unit there will be;

1) Written Assignment 20% Grading

2) Individual Presentation 20% Grading

3) Paper Based Written Exam 60% Grading

Grading System:

The grading system of the course is as follows;

90-100-   A+

75-89-     A

65-74 -    B

55-64-     C

0-54 -      Repeat the exam.

 

 

Caregiver Associate Employment Areas:

  • Offering companionship to patients

  • Caregiver for Infants

  • Caregiver for young children

  • Caregiver for people with special needs

  • Caregiver for the elderly

  • Other similar positions

  • Taking clients to their medical appointments, the grocery store and other important places

  • Managing medication

  • Preparing meals when needed

  • Providing care across a variety of settings, including group homes and day service programs

  • Keeping the house clean and doing laundry when needed

  • Providing bathing and dressing assistance

  • Keeping proper care records 

  • Encouraging socialization and participation in community activities

  • Communicating with medical professionals about the patient care plan

  • Maintaining a safe and comfortable home environment

 

Competency assessment and certification:

Students enrolled in the Caregiver Associate course must undergo a competency assessment before graduation. Certificate will be issued to student who passed this assessment.

 

Duration : 12 Months -  ( Saturday / Sunday or Weekdays  )

Medium : English
