What is IELTS?
IELTS (International English Language Testing System), is designed to assess the language ability of candidates who need to study or work where English is the language of communication. IELTS is jointly managed by University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations (Cambridge ESOL), British Council and IDP: IELTS Australia. IELTS conforms to the highest international standards of language assessment. It covers the four language skills: Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking. All candidates take the same Listening and Speaking Modules.

The topics will be assessed through one final assignment, which consists of a lesson plan. This final lesson plan should show comprehension of lesson planning format (aims, objectives, assumptions, anticipated problems and solutions, interactive patterns and timing), lesson plan procedure containing strategies and techniques to help IELTS students to improve their examination skills, and assessment strategies to determine if the students achieved the intended outcome
The course will:
• Provide you with an IELTS simulation to get an overall understanding of the exam.
• Enable you to teach the four IELTS parts effectively.
• Expose you to various IELTS techniques.
• Give you a clear idea about the evaluation criteria.
• Provide you with material that you can use with your trainees later on.
Who should apply/Entry Requirements: (The following requirements are not entirely necessary for you to qualify.) In order for you to gain entry into the Certificate in Teaching IELTS Preparation,
High School Year 12 English or equivalent qualification.
Be competent in Spoken and Written English.
Relevant qualifications and teaching experience would be considered.
If you do not fall within any of the above categories and think you are qualified for the course, please submit all your qualifications and a letter explaining why you should be considered. Your application will then be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

The London Teacher Training College was founded by Dr. Phyllis Vannuffel, who also serves as its principal.
