In order to apply for the TEFL/TESOL or Pre School or Early Childhood Education scholarship programmes, applicants are required to submit a 500-word essay one of the following topic:

TEFL/TESOL courses

“What do you want to achieve from Teaching English as a Foreign Language?”

​

Pre School or Early Childhood Education Teacher courses

“What do you want to achieve from Becoming a Pre School or Early Childhood Education Teacher?”

​

In your submission, tell us what you want to gain from getting the TEFL/TESOL or Pre School /Early Childhood Education Qualification.

​

All the responses must meet the following requirements to be considered:

  • A maximum of 500 words in length 

  • Typed in English

  • Written by the applicant and not by anyone else

  • Submitted in a word processing document such as Microsoft Word

 

Responses will be judged on the following criteria:

  • Structurally connected essay

  • Well-structured with a consistent tone throughout

  • Creative and original

  • Correct spelling, use of grammar and punctuation

 

Scholarship eligibility requirements:

  • Must be enrolled on a full-time basis as undergraduate or postgraduate student in a degree programme at a reputed university.

        N.B: Proof of student status required.

  • Applicants are not required to have a specific discipline/field of study 

  • Students attending online universities/colleges  are also welcome to apply

  • If you are unemployed and seeking to gain additional qualifications to assist with future employment, we offer a 20% discount to help you to get TEFL/TESOL or Pre School or Early Childhood Education courses qualified for less.

 

How to apply for the TEFL/TESOL or Pre School or Early Childhood Education Scholarship programme

To be eligible for the scholarship, you will need to provide proof of your student or graduate status.  This usually means sending us a photo of your student ID or a copy of your degree certificate.  We request that you send us this proof within seven days of your booking.

Please send your 500-word essay along with the following information to info@teflsrilanka.com

  • Full name

  • Email address

  • Telephone number

  • Student status, including which college/university you are attending

  • College/university address and contact telephone number

  • Confirmation and acceptance of terms and conditions

  • If you want to use our discount of unemployment, all you have to do is provide evidence of your unemployed status.

  • Must be a Sri Lankan citizen living in Sri Lanka.

  1. Certificate in TEFL – 06thMay 2022

  2. Certificate in TESOL – 03rd June 2022

  3. Diploma in TEFL – 08th April 2022

  4. Diploma in TESOL – 18th April 2022

  5. Certificate in TEFL ( OFQUAL ) – 11th July2022

  6. Diploma in TESOL ( OFQUAL ) – 09th May 2022

  7. Pre School Teacher – (English/Sinhala/Tamil) – 20th April 2022

  8. Diploma in Early Childhood Education Care & Management (ECECM) – 04th April 2022

 

 

Winner of each respective scholarship programme will be notified via email:

  1. Certificate in TEFL - by May 13th, 2022.

  2. Certificate in TESOL - by June 10th, 2022.

  3. Diploma in TEFL – by April 18th, 2022.

  4. Diploma in TESOL - by April 30th, 2022.

  5. Certificate in TEFL (OFQUAL) - by July 18th, 2022.

  6. Diploma in TESOL (OFQUAL) - by May 18th, 2022.

  7. Pre School Teacher – (English/Sinhala/Tamil) – by April 25th, 2022.

  8. Diploma in Early Childhood Education Care & Management (ECECM) – by April 12th, 2022.

Winners will be contacted by email.
The winner will be asked if they will grant permission to Lanka TEFL Training Institute to post their name and school/university name on www.teflsrilanka.com or in other communications relating to the scholarship programme.

Terms and conditions 

All submissions must be the original work of the applicants. Only one submission may be entered per student, per scholarship. Duplicate entries will be disqualified. Scholarships are non-renewable. By submitting an application to Lanka TEFL Scholarship Programme, you certify that all the information you have provided is original, accurate, and complete.

As outlined in the Privacy Policy, once permission is granted by the applicant, Lanka TEFL Training Institute has permission to:

  • Use their name and awarded TEFL course in announcements or articles (e.g. social media, email newsletter, etc) issued by Lanka TEFL Training Institute.

  • Post the applicant’s name and college or university on Lanka TEFL Training Institute’s website
